Hello Food Fans, I’m Michael Rogers the owner of Seattle Food Tours, longtime Seattlite, proud parent of two, former professional cook, traveler, entrepreneur since age 25. Having a good time has always come natural to me, and while my definition of a “good time” has evolved over the years, these days it usually means eating well, drinking modestly and laughing often, which also happens to be my business model for Seattle Food Tours.
Jill joined Seattle Food Tours in 2011. She has taken couses at Seattle Central Community College and the Art Institute of Seattle in culinary arts and enology, and spent part of 2004 chef apprenticing in New Olreans, LA. Currently, she helps organize wine tastings for local groups and is a regular volunteer at Farestart for Guest Chef Nights on Thursdays.
Penny has been giving tours in Seattle since 1995 after growing up in multiple countries around the world. Her family will tell you she was born to be a guide (Her very first word was “Look”). She is in an on going love affair with her adopted city and is honored to share a taste of Seattle life with you.
When Leslie arrived here to attend graduate school at the UW, she never imagined she would begin a love affair with Seattle that would last 25 years (and counting)! She is a lifetime foodie and avid cook with years of experience in restaurants and catering, and has her own business baking artisan tea cookies and wedding cakes. Leslie is also a professional stage actress, director and producer, and has been active in the vital theater scene in the NW for over twenty years.
Bill McQuaid grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and has spent the past 25 years in Seattle. After the Army he came out west entertaining himself as a waiter and bartender, flight attendant, professional clown and Santa Claus, actor, and Space Needle elevator operator. Today he is a city tour guide, and Pike Place Market food tour guide.
In 2001, Rebecca graduated from the University of Washington and was determined to see the world. Since then she spent almost 14 years traveling, working in 5 countries and on 8 cruise ships as a performer and entertainment host. In 2015 she returned to Seattle, where she loves sampling fabulous international food and meeting intersting people.
